Ronnie Burrage seeks to bring international attention to his 501c3 nonprofit organization, World Rhythm Academy and his newest trio, Holographic Principle. World Rhythm Academy (WRA) - a jazz & justice movement WRA’s mission is to engage jazz, art and science in an effort to transform the lives of individuals living in the most marginal communities of the world - whether it’s a homeless, environmental justice, LGBTQ+ and/or elderly community.
We empower communities through music, art and science engagement
Some of the world’s greatest communities are threatened by increased bigotry, hatred, ignorance and institutional policies that lead to marginalization and destitution. Many of those living in these underserved communities are in need of authentic positive human engagement and restorative care. Whether it’s Brooklyn, St. Louis or beyond, we seek to create spaces that offer healing, justice and empowerment through cross-generational rituals that inspire creativity and activism.
Donors can support the programs of World Rhythm Academy Bridge by giving directly through the World Rhythm Academy website: www.worldrhythmacademy.org and purchasing products and merchandise here on Bandcamp. Supporters can also purchase Ronnie’s latest album release by his jazz trio, Holographic Principle (HP), ’Dance of the Great Spirit’. World Rhythm Academy – A Jazz & Justice Movement
WRA’s mission is to engage jazz, art and science in an effort to transform the lives of underserved youth in the most marginal communities of the world. The Gen2Gen program serves as an intergenerational “bridge” for youth and community elders. Organized and led by high school students, the Gen2Gen Bridge events host cultural arts performances at senior living centers. Each event incorporates activities, such as music, dance, spoken word and film that stimulate cross generational dialog and connections between youth and elders around local and global socio-environmental issues.
For the youth, outcomes can be measured through advanced skills in leadership, critical thinking and communication, as well as enhanced appreciation for the wisdom and knowledge of elders living in their communities. At the same time, many isolated seniors are transformed and energized through the youthful company and live performances in their own living spaces. In addition, local artists and musicians gain additional employment through their participation.
Your donation will go towards (1) the master classes in the arts and leadership training for high school teens (2) performance and hospitality expenses for “Bridge” events at senior homes and (3) operations and staffing.
